Lead Paediatric Dietitian, Argyll and Bute CHP

Biography


Dr Chapple’s graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 1998, and began her first post as a Basic Grade Dietitian at Inverclyde Royal Hospital. She gained experience in acute and community adult dietetics over a fourteen month post, and then took a six month secondment opportunity at Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Glasgow.

Dr Chapple quickly realised that paediatrics was the speciality for her and successfully secured a permanent position at Yorkhill in 2000.   Over the twelve years she worked at Yorkhill, she consolidated her knowledge in a number of areas in clinical paediatric dietetics including Gastroenterology, Cystic Fibrosis and latterly Ketogenic Diet.

Dr Chapple is one of the only paediatric dietitians in Argyll and Bute,  and works hard to ensure that marginalised groups have local access to equitable specialist paediatric dietetic services. She has done this by improving paediatric dietetic capabilities within her team of generalist community dietitians. In her current role she is actively involved with Managed Clinical Networks such as CYANS and  WOSPGHAN, ensuring best practice in local clinical care.

Dr Chapple is an active representative on professional groups including; The National  AHP Children’s Services Forum and the Lead Paediatric Dietitian’s Network.
