Dr Jill Rasmussen

GPSI in dementia, RCGP clinical representative for dementia and chair of the Lewy Body Society Specialist Advisory Group


Jill is a Clinician with special interest in psychiatry and neurology. Following an initial period of nine years in the NHS she worked in the pharmaceutical industry in Europe, the US and UK for ten years where she held senior positions in a number of companies with responsibility for the development of new drugs for psychiatry and neurology.  She also spent two years with the Medicines Control Agency (Now the MHRA).

Since 1994, she has combined part-time clinical practice with her own independent research consultancy (www.psi-napse.com). In her consultancy she specialises in advising about development and medico-marketing strategy for drugs in CNS indications (includes NICE HTAs), is an advisor to venture capital groups and is a member of the Wellcome Trust Pathfinder Awards Committee.

In the NHS she has experience as a GP with Special Interest in Mental Health, Dementia and Learning Disability, as a commissioner and as representative for mental health and dementia for NHS England Team South East Region; currently she has national roles as RCGP Clinical Representative for Dementia, Advisor to Surrey Heartlands STP and to the Academic Health Science Network Kent Surrey Sussex and is Chair of the Lewy Body Society Specialist Advisory Group.
