Biography


Dr Helen Brough read Medicine at King’s College, Cambridge University before completing her clinic training at the Royal Free & University College London Medical School. She completed Higher Specialist Training in Paediatric Allergy as the MADEL Clinical Lecturer and became a Consultant in Paediatric Allergy at St. Thomas’ Hospital in 2013. She is now the Clinical Lead for Paediatric Allergy at St. Thomas’s Hospital and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London. She was the BSACI Annual Meeting Secretary from 2015-2016.

Dr Brough’s clinical and research interests are in food allergy prevention, diagnosis and management, immunotherapy, asthma, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders and eczema. She is the lead author for the BSACI Standards of Care Committee guideline for atopic eczema. Helen has authored multiple research publications on environmental risk factors for food allergy, food allergy diagnosis and management. She is Principal Investigator for the Pronuts study, evaluating the rate of challenge proven peanut, tree nut and sesame seed allergy. She was also involved in the Learning Early About Peanut (LEAP), LEAP-ON and Enquiring About Tolerance (EAT) study.
