Biography


Dr Alpa Kanji completed an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences, and then undertook research in bacterial genetics for which she was awarded a PhD, both at the University of Cambridge. After a variety of roles in the corporate sector, she attended King’s College London to complete her medical degree. She obtained a training number on the competitive dermatology London rotation after working as a dermatology fellow at The Royal Free Hospital.

As a dermatology registrar, she is regularly involved in teaching medical students. She has a particular interest in atopic dermatitis and the profound impact that this can have on the psychological and physical wellbeing of patients. She is passionate about empowering patients to manage their condition optimally. She has recently re-introduced Habit Reversal at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where it was first used over thirty years ago, to help patients eradicate their eczema.
